Hearing Impairment Program PDF Print E-mail

Students with mild hearing impairment participate in all areas of the school curriculum and are involved in many extracurricular areas of school life. Students participate in a fully inclusive program and are supported by the District Advisory Visiting Teacher Service.

Hearing impaired students are identified through the Education Adjustment Program (EAP) process with a verification of their diagnosis and the completion of an educational Profile. Student needs and goals are identified in an Individual Support Plan (IEP/ISP).

The support program aims to develop student independence and to ensure that they are given every opportunity to access, participate and succeed in the curriculum and to make a successful transition to post school pathways.

The Brisbane North District  Special Education Program for secondary-aged students with high support needs for Hearing Impairment is situated at Kedron State High School.
