Information Services Centre

The Information Services Centre is a new and innovative approach within a secondary setting. It is the amalgamation of two strands – the former Library and ‘educative technology requirements’. The purpose-built ISC promotes the concept of a seamless dissemination of information, both print and electronic format to prepare our students for the Information Age.

It includes state-of-the-art air-conditioned computer labs with 110 workstations, print media and a fully equipped Lecture Centre enabling student media presentations as well as videoconferencing facilities. Computer labs and hubs are also available in faculty areas across the campus.

Computer hardware infrastructure adheres to a replacement policy which sees our hardware being rolled over every three years to equip our students with up-to-date technology and an above state average student/computer ratio of 2:1.

Business & information technology

The Business and Information Technology program is supported by:

• Printers, Scanners
• A Model Office with a range of business equipment.

Sports

Aspley SHS provides:

• A Swimming pool
• Rugby League, Soccer and Cricket fields
• A Cricket practice net
• 4 newly surfaced Basketball Courts/ Netball 
• 5 newly surfaced Tennis Courts / Volleyball
• An extensive gymnasium, with over $60,000 worth of gym equipment
• 6 Handball Courts
• 1 newly surfaced Volleyball/ 2 grass Netball Courts
• A Softball/Baseball field
• A Rock Climbing Wall.

Home economics & hospitality

To provide industry standards, Aspley SHS provides:

• 2 Commercial Kitchens
• 1 Textile Room.

Industrial technology

Our Manual Arts program is supported by a $500000 upgrade of workshops:

• 2 Woodwork Workshops
• 1 Metalwork Workshop
• 2 Graphic Rooms
• 1 Senior Workshops.

Science

Aspley SHS is fully committed to the area of Science. To support Science we provide:

• 1 designated Physics Laboratory
• 1 designated Chemistry Laboratory
• 1 designated Biology/Multi-Strand Laboratory
• 3 Junior Science Laboratories.

With the addition of attractive outdoor areas, our students enjoy a safe, clean environment both within and beyond the classroom.

The Arts

Our Arts program, including an excellent instrumental music program that supports a Junior Drumming Troupe, Concert, Stage Band and Strings Program, is enhanced by:
