Politicians, Church Leaders and Parents were in attendance to see the commissioning of our first School Chaplain Mr Andrew Southwell. This formal ceremony was held on a full school Assembly on Friday 26th October 2007.

Our Chaplaincy service became possible after securing a $20000/year Federal Government Grant, $5000/year from the Aspley Leagues Club, $5000/year from our P&C and a number of donations from local churches and parents. We still require more financial assistance. If you are interested please contact the school office and we will provide you details of tax deductible donations to the Queensland Scripture Union that goes directly to Aspley SHS's Chaplaincy Program.

Andrew is available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday in C2 for a range of student support programs.   

Special guests included Julie Bishop, Teresa Gambaro Federal Minister for Petrie, Ms Bonny Barry State Member for Aspley, Mrs Faith Hopkins local Councillor for Marchant, and Mrs Amanda Cooper local Councillor for Bracken Ridge.
