Aspley State High School provides a number of services to help our students reach and maintain their academic and personal potential. Support staffOur school provides a range of support staff to assist students in their studies. School NurseThe school nurse visits the school on Monday, Friday and alternate Wednesdays. Students can make appointments to see the nurse at the office counter. The school nurse service is provided by Queensland Health and also assists teachers by presenting lessons to students on various health topics. School ChaplainSchool Chaplains provide spiritual and emotional support to school communities. They are in the prevention and rescue business: helping students find a better way to deal with issues ranging from family breakdown and loneliness to drug abuse. depression and suicide. They provide a listening ear and a caring presence for students in crisis and those who just need a friend. They also provide support for staff and parents in school communities. There are now over 500 School Chaplains servicing over 600 schools in QLD! Who is our School Chaplain? Our School Chaplain is Mr Andrew Southwell. Andrew is known as "Chappy" to most students. He has a variety of youth work experience both here in Australia and overseas. Andrew is married to Gretel and they have a young daughter, Elise. How can we access the Chaplain? Andrew is here in the school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Students can access the Chaplain by visiting his room (C2) and making an appointment, or by asking their teacher or office staff to make an appointment.
