Welcome to the English Faculty. English relates to all areas of life. It develops reading, writing, speaking and viewing skills enabling our students to become confident and active members of the community.

Students are exposed to a wide range of texts including literary canon and modern texts – our curriculum meets the needs and interests of our students.

We encourage our students to be active in the classroom, develop the ability to express ideas and understand the variety of opinion and difference that exists in our community.

We hope to kindle an enthusiasm for language, an appreciation of our literary and cultural heritage and the ability to communicate effectively in all walks of life, so as to develop intelligent, productive citizens.

In today’s world, our students have access to many opportunities and pathways to their futures. To help guide our students in the right direction, the English Pathway (PDF 84kb) will assist in preparing and planning for future study, careers and transitioning to future employment.
