Industrial Technology & Design

Welcome to the Industrial Technology & Design Faculty. Industrial Technology & Design involves the design and manufacture of products, industrial systems and graphical representations.

Industrial technology refers to the procedures and techniques used to organise and control systems; and combine and process materials into useful products. It focuses on the creation, development and communication of concepts and specifications for products.

Students will have the opportunity to develop specific knowledge, practices and dispositions through a learner centered approach. Students will practise critical and creative thinking, problem solving and decision-making. These involve the use of knowledge, practices and dispositions such as recall, application, analysis, synthesis, prediction and evaluation, all of which contribute to the development and enhancement of conceptual understandings.

A learner centred approach also encourages students to reflect on and monitor their thinking as they make decisions and take action.

Pathways

In today’s world, our students have access to many opportunities and pathways to their futures. To help guide our students in the right direction, the Industrial Technology & Design Pathway (PDF 54kb) will assist in preparing and planning for future study, careers and transitioning to future employment.
