Intellectual Impairment Program PDF Print E-mail

Students with a verified Intellectual Impairment are able to participate in all areas of the school curriculum and are also involved in the many extracurricular areas of school life at Aspley State High School.

Intellectually impaired students are identified through the Education Adjustment Program (EAP) process with a verification of their diagnosis and the completion of an educational Profile. Student needs and goals are identified in an Individual Support Plan (IEP/ISP) and students participate in both regular subjects and additional targetted learning programs including Literacy and Numeracy.

The support program aims to develop student independence and to ensure that they are given every opportunity to access, participate and succeed in the curriculum and to make a successful transition to post school pathways
