2008 will see Aspley State High School begin an exciting partnership with QUT Carseldine Campus and BNIT (Brisbane North Institute of Tafe) in the Accounting field. There is a huge shortage of Accountants in Australia and Internationally - 4 jobs are available for every existing accountant!

Students who choose Accounting have the opportunity to gain up to 14 points towards their QCE. This will be made up of:

  • 4 points – by passing Accounting (Authority subject)
  • 2 points – by completing the QUT subject BSB110 Accounting

plus

  • 2 points – by simply passing Accounting at school, TAFE recognises that students have already completed 1/3 of the Diploma of Accounting, or
  • 8 points – by gaining credit transfer for Certificate III Financial Services (Accounts Clerical), and completing the Certificate at BNIT*

Accounting is the language of business! The Senior Accounting course will be offered as a blended delivery model that engages students and meets their learning needs. This will enable students to develop independent learning skills necessary for university or vocational success!
