Code: ENG005 The unit will begin with a focus on the presentation of self in society through a careers based unit. This will be a two part process and will focus on the pathways that students will take into senior studies and beyond. This study will assist students in making important senior subject selection choices. The latter half of the course will concern itself with contemporary social issues through a study of poetry and television. The theme of society will feature in many topics used for assessment. English 005 Society is the fifth unit in Junior English studies. This unit is a contrast and companion to the unit English 004, The individual. Students will be expected to create drafts and use the writing process to develop and polish their work. Units will be 3/5 weeks in length and are based on the English Years 1-10 Syllabus.
