Health is a quality of life that is influenced by the interactions between individuals and their socio-cultural, physical, political and economic environments. Health Education is an academic subject. It combines learning experiences and assessment procedures that mirror objectives for developing a socio-culturally educated individual. Through a study of health, you will develop a number of skills, such as interacting, problem solving, decision making, researching, critical thinking and valuing.

Assessment

A variety of assessment procedures will be used throughout the course. These will involve:

  • Investigative Reports
  • Knowledge based exams
  • Oral Presentations
  • Research and assignment tasks
  • Response to stimuli
  • Integrated task

Students’ achievement is assessed on the basis of two criteria: Criterion A (with dimensions of knowledge and simple familiar application) and Criterion B (with dimensions of analysis, synthesis, evaluation and communication).
