Title: Industrial Skill Preparation

This course is aimed at those students who are interested in trade based careers. It will focus on timber based projects and give students an understanding of materials and how they can be manipulated.

Topics

Students participate in the Design, Make and Appraise methodology and produce various articles that meet the requirements outlined in design briefs.

Assessment

Students will be assessed at the completion of each task. They will be assessed in the following areas:

• Planning – students must complete planning work by producing plans on CAD and procedure lists.
• Construction – students will be assessed on the quality of the work that they produce.
• Industry – students will be assessed on their work ethic and application to the individual tasks.
