Title: Exploring & Exploding

Coordinator: Mr Michael Sparks

Exploring what substances are made of is the nature of this unit. The particle model is used to try to make sense of how substances behave. Experiments will be used to investigate joining and separating chemicals. You will learn to use laboratory equipment in a safe and meaningful way. Devising your own experiments will be part of this unit.

Also you will have the opportunity to investigate forces. What is a force? What types of forces exist? How can forces be measured? Why are forces important? Simple machines will also be investigated.
