  • Contemporary social change e.g. globalization, social, economic and political issues/trends
Assessment

Similar to other Social Science subjects - three assessment items per semester, from among these options:

Aims
Modern history is for students who:
  • want to improve their chances on the Q.C.S. test by learning how to analyse, interpret, argue logically and communicate effectively
  • want to balance a maths/science program with an understanding of the processes that have shaped and continue to shape our social environment
  • want to improve their ability to research information. Want to enter university courses that deal with people. Want to enter employment dealing with people
  • want to understand the concept of change – why things don’t stay the same
  • want to understand themselves and the modern world a little better
