Printmaking has had a long and glorious history in our world.  It was one of the foundation stones of communication and evidence of its use still exists today – like a radio link to the beginning of our civilisation.

This unit will explore the development of printmaking through history and follow it’s transformation from storytelling to advertising.  Students will explore the foundations of Visual Art through the elements of design with a focus on printmaking.  Students will experiment will a variety of printmaking techniques which will give them an opportunity to appraise works from ancient Indigenous work to Pop artist, Richard Hamilton.
