Code: ART005
Title: Bending Perception
Pre-requisites: ART001 or ART002
Coordinator: Ms Sue Lonsdale

Art is an intrinsic component of our society which forms the very foundation of the culture we live in.  This unit explores the way in which art crosses into popular culture and shapes the ways in which people view their reality.

From artists such as Salvador Dali, HR Geiger and collectives such as Hipgnosis (responsible for many album covers including many Pink Floyde), this unit will examine how Modernism has influenced our culture from the music we hear to the movies we see.

Students will discover how art can cross over into the corporate world and make an impact on mass culture through graphic design and 3D design.
