Aspley State High School offers Instrumental Music lessons to all year levels in the following areas:

• Woodwind
• Brass
• Percussion
• Strings

Instrumental Music (Woodwind, Brass, Percussion) lessons are held each Friday. Strings lessons are conducted before school each day. Lessons rotate to ensure students do not miss the same lessons within their core curriculum. Once students are in Years 11 and 12, they can choose to remain in tuition lessons or just be involved in a variety of ensembles due to their more extensive schedules in the Senior Phase of Learning.

Current and future ensembles at our school include:

• Stage Band
• Rock Band
• Flute Ensemble
• String Ensemble

If a student is receiving instrumental lessons they are expected to be a part of one or more ensembles at the school. Ensemble rehearsals are held both during school hours and outside of school hours.

Instrumental Music is continually growing at our school and it plays an integral part within the school community and the artistic, cognitive, sensory and emotional development of our students.
