The Band and Performance Mentoring
(BPM) Program is a specialist program available to students in Years
7-12 to provide enrichment to those who are in a band and wish to
receive mentoring and greater opportunities in performance.
Aspley
State High School has a strong history and relationship with a range of
local community events where our students perform and compete in a
variety of events. Being a part of this program means that students will
be given
opportunities to perform within the school community but
also broaden their audience to outside of the school community and
experience performing on stages with other local bands.
Benefits of the Program:
- Mentoring to develop performance and instrumental skills in a wide variety of genres
- Mentoring with set list repertoire choices and performer stage presence
- A variety of performance opportunities at school events and in the wider community at community events and festivals
- Performance development workshops
- Mentoring with logo development and marketing strategies
- Opportunities for community exposure through potential radio interviews and newspaper articles
- Supporting the band's group dynamic and collaborative skills
- Annual Music Tour
What are we looking for:
- Any established bands in Years 7-12
- High skill levels on instruments and/or vocals
- Confidence to perform within the school and on public stages
- Commitment to regular practice as a band
