New Zealand Ski Trip
Aspley SHS offers a ski trip to Queenstown in New Zealand every 2nd year. The trip is available to students in years 10, 11 and 12.
Queenstown is a fantastic destination and the students get the opportunity to ski two mountains (The Remarkables and Coronet Peak).
During their stay the students also have the opportunity to take a jet boat ride on the majestic Shotover River, luge ride over looking Queenstown and have an amazing dinner at the Skyline Buffet.
UK Soccer Tour
In 2020, Aspley ventured on what was our inaugural football tour to the UK and what we hope will become a biannual and 'must do' event on the Aspley football calendar.
On the tour, we trained at English Premier League giants Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Middlesbrough as well as Scottish Premier League giants Glasgow Rangers and Celtic.
We were able to experience many live professional games, whilst we were also able to play against local clubs and schools and visit many prominent international tourist landmarks. This International Football tour opportunity is available to all football students from Year 7-12 enrolled in our schools football program.
Year 9 Camp
Our year 9 students attend a camp in term 3 at Maroon Outdoor Education Centre. Their staff are industry leaders and provide an important opportunity for personal development and for the cohort to connect further as they prepare for senior. During the camp students will have campout out for 1-3 nights depending on the challenge level they chose. They will also access the centres facilities such as rock climbing, abseiling, high ropes, canoeing and challenge course.
