Aspley SHS offers students an array of extra-curricular activities to enhance the student's performance and music skills across the Arts. This provides students with a wonderful opportunity to participate in community events, showcases, music tours and programs outside of the classroom environment. Through this process students will be supported and mentored by specialist music teachers and teacher aides who can provide guidance and knowledge to develop the student's capabilities as a musician.
Our music extra-curricular opportunities include:
A-Factor is Aspley's annual talent show that is held in Term 4. It is a student-run event lead by our A-Factor captains and is built around a specific theme that is conducted by the leaders.
The Band and Performance Mentoring (BPM) Program is a specialist program available to students in Years 7-12 to provide enrichment to those who are in a band and wish to receive mentoring and greater opportunities in performance.
The Instrumental Music Program provides a valuable co-curricular experience for all students from Years 7-12 who have experience or an interest in learning strings, percussion, woodwind and brass instruments.
Students from Years 7 to 12 are encouraged to sign up and perform in front of their peers, whether it be their first time or practice for an upcoming event.
The Vocal Excellence Program is a specialist program available to students in Years 7-12 to provide enrichment to those who demonstrate proficiency in singing.
